Nourishing Protein on a Budget

I'm so glad you're here, questioning the food system and demanding better for your family.  I'm so glad you're choosing our farm to play a role in that!

But I hear you, there is only so much money.

This makes buying meat in bulk pretty intimidating.

Let me try to make it reasonable.

Each family knows what they can handle; these are a few things I didn't know I could count on when I first started securing meat in bulk.

  1. Long-term supply at a consistent price. When you're in the routine of buying meat on a weekly basis, it's sometimes hard to realize the price swings, but trust me, they're there!

  2. Less running around grocery shopping (as a mom with young kids and a busy schedule, this means ALOT to me.  Because I grow most of our food, I am able to go multiple weeks without grocery shopping.)

  3. Nose to Tail eating.  Use your meat and carcass to the max.  Save the fats to render into nutritious and flavorful fats for frying.  Save the bones to make broth whenever you need it!  Think about those dollars you don't have to spend now elsewhere and the higher quality product you created.  And I didn't even mention the organ meats that are a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals!

  4. It's an investment in your family's health.  You know it, people are sick.  Our bodies can only take so much abuse before it shows up in our lives, and that is risky and costly.

I want your family to have access to the healthiest proteins.  I think every kid should get to have a childhood outside of the hospital and not have to fear the ingredients in the food they eat.

From one Mom to another,

Mary
